Ghanaian youngster Jerry Afriyie is set to link up with the Black Stars squad as preparations intensify ahead of their upcoming international friendly against Mexico.

The exciting development sees the promising forward joining the senior national team camp, where he will train alongside some of Ghana’s established stars as the technical team continues to assess options ahead of the high-profile fixture.

Afriyie’s invitation is another strong signal of the growing confidence in his talent and potential at national team level. The youngster has been closely monitored by the Black Stars technical handlers following his impressive performances at youth level and his continued development in competitive football environments.

The upcoming friendly against Mexico is expected to serve as an important test for the Black Stars, offering the coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate both experienced players and emerging talents like Afriyie. For the youngster, it represents a major chance to gain valuable exposure, experience top-level training intensity, and possibly stake a claim for future call-ups.

His inclusion in camp also reflects Ghana’s broader strategy of gradually integrating young players into the senior setup. With the Black Stars undergoing a transitional phase, opportunities are increasingly being created for rising talents to prove themselves on the international stage.

For Afriyie, training alongside senior professionals will be a crucial learning experience. It will test his tactical discipline, physical readiness, and mental strength as he adapts to the demands of international football.

Ghana fans will be watching closely as the team prepares for the friendly, eager to see how the coaching staff balances experience with youth. Afriyie’s presence adds fresh energy to the squad and highlights the depth of talent emerging within Ghanaian football.

As preparations continue, attention will now shift to how the young forward performs in camp and whether he can translate his potential into meaningful involvement when the Black Stars take on Mexico.
