Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has shared his excitement after sealing a permanent move to Belgian top-flight side Cercle Brugge.
In an interview with the club’s media team, the 21-year-old expressed his gratitude and optimism about the next chapter of his career. “It’s been a busy season already, but I’m grateful to God for where I am today. I’m happy to stay at Cercle and looking forward to what’s next,” he said.
Cercle Brugge officially confirmed on Thursday, May 15, that they have triggered the purchase option in Agyekum’s loan deal from Austrian club RB Salzburg, making his stay in Belgium permanent.
The club also announced that the Ghana international has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
Agyekum enjoyed a productive season during his loan spell, featuring in 44 matches across all competitions, scoring twice and providing two assists. He is now aiming to build on that form as he begins his next chapter with Cercle Brugge.
