Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum delivered an outstanding performance for Cercle Brugge on Sunday, scoring and providing an assist in their 2-2 draw with K.V. Kortrijk in the Belgian Pro League.
Agyekum, who recently earned a call-up to the Black Stars, started the match and played 83 minutes before being substituted for fellow Ghanaian Abu Francis.
The game began with K.V. Kortrijk taking the lead in the 14th minute through a well-taken goal by Bram Lagae. Despite efforts from Cercle Brugge, the visitors maintained their advantage until halftime.
After the break, Agyekum inspired a comeback, leveling the score in the 54th minute with a composed finish. His impact continued as he provided an assist for Thibo Somers in the 80th minute, putting Cercle Brugge ahead.
However, their hopes of victory were dashed late in the match when Abdelkahar Kadri struck to secure a point for K.V. Kortrijk.
Agyekum’s goal was his first of the season, coming after 28 league appearances. His impressive display highlights his growing influence in the team as the season progresses.
