French Ligue 1 side Racing Club de Lens general manager Arnaud Pouille is excited to extend defender Kevin Danso’s contract on Thursday evening.

The Austrian – born Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso has extended his contract with French Ligue 1 side Racing Club de Lens ahead of the upcoming season.

His new deal binds him to Racing until 2027 after making 37 appreances in the for the Red and Yellows outfit as he earned a place in the team of the year.

A true defender, promoted to part of the workforce by Franck Haise, the player with 13 caps with Austria will continue to ply his trade for the UEFA Champions League side.

The smile of this big guy strikes right away. If the measurements are impressive (1 meter 90 for 85 kg), Kevin Danso displays a joviality which perfectly characterizes the man: a calm, serene person, always acting with respect for others.

The general manager of the Red and Yellows did not hide his excitement after tying the defender to a long term deal.

: “Seeing Kevin extend, when he was courted by major European teams, testifies to his loyalty to Racing and his desire to be fully involved in the project he joined two years ago. His attachment to family values fully corresponds to our DNA.”

“This model of professionalism, rigorous and who always wants more, has forged a combative state of mind which commands respect in the locker room but also among observers. An Austrian international, he has established himself as a central defender of reference, a status which is reflected in his appointment to the typical Ligue 1 team at the UNFP Trophies.“

“Together with his brilliant progress, he has become a strong man in the locker room of which he is now a part. His good humor and exemplarity will still be undeniable vectors for performing in the coming season. We are therefore necessarily delighted to see him initial until 2027 with the club. »

But on the pitch – and his opponents can attest to this – the Austrian born to Ghanaian parents is not making a gift. Intense, hard on the man and tireless recoverer, the international is an extremely sought-after profile on the transfer market in the summer of 2021.

When this 22-year-old colossus finally landed in the mining basin, the Lensois board praised his physical impact and his versatility. A potential that will emerge over time.
