English goalkeeper Lewis Ward has started the last six games for Swindon Town in the League towards the end of the season as Ghana Number Joseph Wollacot settles for a reserve goalkeeper role.
The 25-year old Ward started and completed the two League Two Play-Off games against Port Vale as Swindon sought to reach the final at Wembley.
Port Vale advanced to the play-off finals on Thursday after beating Swindon 6-5 on penalties following an aggregate scoreline of 2-2 after extra time.
On 27 July 2021, Ward signed for Swindon Town on a one-year contract following a trial. He made his league debut at Forest Green Rovers on 9 October 2021, keeping a clean sheet and saving a penalty.
As it stands now, Ward is his team’s first choice and Wollacot has to work to come back to his former starting role.
