Early Life & Family Background

Liam Delap hails from a family deeply rooted in football. His father, Rory Delap, is a former professional footballer renowned for his long throw-ins during his time with Stoke City and for representing the Republic of Ireland national team. His mother, Helen, is a marathon runner who completed the challenging Three Peaks Challenge. Liam’s younger brother, Finn Delap, is also pursuing a career in football and plays for Burton Albion .

Liam’s paternal grandparents and great-uncles originate from Letterkenny, County Donegal, and Moynalty, County Meath in Ireland, making him eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland at the international level .
