Lookman, Banda crowned African Footballers of the year 2024

  • Nigerian and Atlanta’s skipper Ademola Lookman crowned African beat Best of the year, 2024.
  • Babra Banda grabs the Women’s player of the year,2024.

Marrakech once again welcomed Africa to its biggest awards. Again in the heart of the beautiful city, the whole of Africa and the football fraternity assembled to celebrate its great talents.

In CAF President’s welcome address, Dr. Patrice Motsepe echoed his hope for the continent and envisioned a very possible word where an Africa Team wins the World Cup in the very near future. He also emphasized the need for a wholesome investment to achieve this height. For him, this includes paying the players well, paying the coaches well and taking very action with the best energy to attain the global height we all admire in other continents.

In concluding his address, the Caf President highlighted how for the first time, CAF acknowledges the best of refereeing on the continent 

The maiden best referee award went to Bouchra Karjoubi from Morocco and Mutaz Ibrahim of Libya as equally the best male referee.  The assistant referees were equally not left aside. Zambians pacesetter Diana Chikotesha grabbed the best assistant female and Elvis Guy Noupue of Cameroon as the best assistant male referee

From the deepest heartbeat to the future of Africans football and inspiration of many other young players, Doha El Madani of Morocco/ASFAR was awarded as the young women’s player of the year . She was also recognised as the young player of the year in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League 

For the second time in the roll, Senegal and AS Monaco prodigy Lamine Camara was awarded the young player of the year.

For the Women’s team of the year went to the National Team of National and the Champions of continent,  Côte D’Ivoire was adjourned the best Male national team. 

Recognising the best Club of the Year, the might power house Al Alhy retained its position as the best men’s club while the Champions of this year’s Women’s Champions league were the best women’s club of the year

The mighty South African keeper Rowen Williams concludes his evening winning the best male club player of the year and the best goalkeeper of the year with Sanaa Mssoudy also picking the women’s club player of the year.

Super Falcons captain Chiamaka for the second time in the roll won the best goalkeeper of the year award.

In the coach’s award of the year, history maker Emerse Faéwas adjourned the men’s coach of the year and LamiaBoumedhi Coach of TP Mazembe and best coach of the 2024 CAF Champions league grabbed the women’s coach of the year.

Definitely a great year of Africa Football and we hope for more
