The midfielder has shown hesitation in extending his contract with the club, indicating his desire to seek opportunities abroad, sources tell Sportsworldghana.
Recent reports suggest that three European clubs, namely AS Monaco, PSV Eindhoven, and FC Porto, have expressed interest in acquiring the services of the midfielder from Accra Hearts of Oak.
Salifu joined the Phobians in February 2021 on a three-and-a-half-year agreement, transferring from Techiman Eleven Wonders. He played a pivotal role in the club’s triumph, helping them secure their first league title in eleven years as well as the FA Cup.
Throughout 2021, Salifu emerged as a surprise package for Hearts of Oak, outshining competitors such as Augustine Boakye from WAFA and Gladson Awako from Olympics.
His outstanding performances earned him the prestigious Player of the Year award, having contributed 3 goals, 8 assists, and 8 Most Valuable Player (MVP) accolades.
