President John Dramani Mahama has called on Black Stars players to replicate the same level of performance they display at their respective clubs when representing Ghana.
The senior national team has faced intense criticism following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). However, during a visit to the team on Wednesday, Mahama challenged the players to bring the same dedication and commitment they show at club level to the national team.
“It takes sacrifice, it takes strength. We all enjoy watching you play for your clubs, and we expect you to bring that same dedication to the national team,” he urged.
The President also stressed the importance of discipline, hard work, and unity, emphasizing that these qualities are essential for success.
Ghana will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24, in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
After missing out on AFCON for the first time in two decades, the Black Stars are determined to redeem themselves by securing a place at the World Cup.
