Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has officially rejoined Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht following the completion of his six-month loan spell with newly promoted side RAAL La Louvière.

The 28-year-old returned to Anderlecht after his temporary deal with La Louvière expired on June 30, 2026. The move, which began in January, was designed to help the midfielder regain full match fitness and secure consistent playing time after an injury-hit period.

Ashimeru heads back to Brussels alongside fellow Ghanaian Jerry Afriyie, whose temporary stay at La Louvière also came to an end following the expiration of his agreement.

Despite leaving La Louvière, Ashimeru remains under contract with Anderlecht until June 30, 2027, after signing a contract extension with the Belgian club in 2024.

The midfielder has endured a difficult spell in recent months, with injuries affecting his playing time and ultimately costing him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Determined to revive his career at both club and international level, Ashimeru has already begun intensive pre-season preparations, undertaking gym sessions and on-field training to regain peak fitness ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Anderlecht’s technical staff are expected to closely assess his physical condition and performances during pre-season before deciding whether he will be reintegrated into the first-team squad or made available for transfer during the summer window.

With just one year remaining on his current contract, Ashimeru’s future is expected to be one of the key decisions facing Anderlecht as they prepare for the new season.
