Frederic Kanoute, a renowned Malian football figure, has voiced his endorsement for Mohammed Kudus to clinch the prestigious African Player of the Year Award.
The former Sevilla striker, known for his admiration of Ghanaian talent, praised Kudus as one of the most captivating African footballers of the current season.
During an appearance on West Ham United’s podcast, Kanoute highlighted Kudus’ exceptional abilities that distinguish him from others.
“He is truly gifted. He possesses strength and excels in forward runs. He’s versatile and can play in various positions. Despite his youth, I believe he’s one of the most promising African footballers of our time,” Kanoute remarked.
Expressing confidence in Kudus’ chances in the African Player of the Year Award race, Kanoute unequivocally threw his support behind him.
“So yes, he definitely stands a chance in my opinion,” Kanoute affirmed.
Since his transfer to West Ham United from Ajax in August 2023, Mohammed Kudus has amassed an impressive record of 11 goals and 5 assists in 35 appearances for the Hammers.
The 23-year-old forward will be eager to enhance his performance as West Ham faces Bayer Leverkusen in a Europa League clash on Thursday evening.
