Belgian-born Ghanaian winger Jeremy Doku has earned a spot in Sofascore’s Premier League Team of the Week.
Doku netted his debut goal for Manchester City during their 3-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday afternoon. The champions made a comeback to secure the win at the London Stadium.
With Doku actively involved on the left flank and Haaland and Foden forming a promising early partnership, City kept pushing the Hammers from the outset.
In a miraculous sequence, the home side managed to avoid falling behind after City had four consecutive attempts in the sixth minute.
James Ward-Prowse opened the scoring for the Hammers by eluding the defender to head in a cross after Soucek took advantage of a poor touch by Doku.
Doku then leveled the score for City with his first goal after the restart. He embarked on a powerful run that forced the Hammers’ defenders to back off, ultimately slotting a beautiful shot inside the far post.
Bernardo Silva added another goal in the 76th minute to make it 2-1, while Erling Haaland found the back of the net in the 88th minute.
