Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi expressed his disappointment after being named Man of the Match in the 1-1 draw against Young Apostles at Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, emphasizing that individual accolades are meaningless without securing three points for the team.
The former Great Olympics player scored the equalizer for the Porcupine Warriors, but his focus remains on team success.
“Winning Man of the Match means nothing to me when you don’t get the three points,” Antwi told Asante Kotoko’s media team. “I don’t go into the game to win individual awards; my priority is the team. So, while it’s a bit disappointing, that’s okay.”
Young Apostles took the lead in the 51st minute through Daniel Lomotey, but Antwi’s long-range shot in the 76th minute salvaged a point for Kotoko.
The team will look to improve their performance and convert chances into victories in future matches.
