Manchester United are looking for a right-back as they hope to send Aaron Wan-Bissaka away in June.
According to the Mirror, Brighton & Hove Albion youngster is the preferred choice of manager Ralf Ragnick and he will swoop for him in the summer.
The 21-year-old lateral defender emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton last summer but no deal was concluded as he was injured.
With three years left on his existing contract at Brighton, Lamptey has a release clause of 35 Million Pounds.
