Defender Marvin Senaya has received his maiden call-up to the Ghana national football team ahead of the upcoming international friendlies against Germany national football team and Austria national football team later this month.

The talented defender, who currently plays for French side AJ Auxerre, has been rewarded for his consistent performances at club level with an opportunity to represent Ghana on the international stage for the first time.

His inclusion in the squad by head coach Otto Addo marks a significant moment in his career as he prepares to begin a new chapter with the Black Stars.

Marvin Senaya was born on January 28, 2001, in France. Although he was born and raised in Europe, he is eligible to represent Ghana through his family roots.

From a young age, Senaya developed a strong passion for football. His pace, energy and defensive awareness made him stand out among young players in France. These qualities eventually helped him gain entry into a professional football academy where he continued to develop his skills.

Development at Auxerre

Senaya began his football development at the youth academy of AJ Auxerre, a club well known for producing talented players in French football.

At Auxerre’s academy, he worked hard to develop into a modern full-back. Coaches praised his ability to combine strong defending with attacking support on the flanks. His speed and work rate allowed him to cover large areas of the pitch and help both in defence and attack.

After progressing through the youth ranks, Senaya eventually earned promotion to the club’s senior team, where he continued to grow as a professional footballer.

Professional career and experience

Senaya has gained valuable experience playing in French football competitions, including Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. During his time with Auxerre, he has featured mainly as a right-back, a position where he uses his pace and strength to stop opposing wingers.

In order to gain more playing time and experience, the defender also had loan spells in the French league system where he continued to improve his game and build confidence at senior level.

Across his professional career so far, Senaya has accumulated dozens of competitive appearances, steadily establishing himself as a reliable defender.

Playing style

Marvin Senaya is known for his energy and determination on the field. His main strengths include:

Speed and stamina, which help him run up and down the flank throughout the game
Strong defensive positioning when dealing with attacking opponents

Ability to support attacks, often joining teammates in forward movements
Physical strength, allowing him to compete well in duels

These qualities make him the type of modern full-back who can contribute both defensively and offensively.

First opportunity with the Black Stars

Senaya’s first call-up to the Black Stars is a major milestone in his career. The upcoming friendly matches against Germany and Austria will give him the chance to train with the senior national team and possibly make his debut.

For Ghana, the addition of young and energetic defenders like Senaya is important as the team continues to build a strong squad for future international competitions.

If he gets the chance to play, Senaya will aim to impress the technical team and secure a place in future Black Stars squads.

A proud moment

Being called up to represent Ghana is a proud moment for the young defender and his family. It also highlights Ghana’s continued effort to strengthen the national team by bringing in talented players with Ghanaian heritage who are performing well in European football.

For Marvin Senaya, the upcoming international friendlies could be the start of a long and successful journey with the Black Stars as he hopes to make his mark on the international stage.
