Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has emphasized the team’s focus on preparing for the decisive second leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.
The first leg, held on Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium, ended in a goalless draw, leaving both teams with everything to play for in the return leg scheduled for Saturday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The winner of the tie will secure a spot in the CHAN tournament set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year.
Speaking after the stalemate, Coach Dramani stressed the importance of preparation while highlighting the broader significance of the team’s performance.
“When we don’t qualify, there is still positive. What is positive about this is that these boys have been exposed to a certain level of our Ghanaian league, and this is the page that we want to print out—that we are expressing our domestic competition structure to the rest of Africa and the world,” he explained.
He added, “We are not even thinking about it [the past result]; we are just thinking about how to prepare, get to Nigeria, and get to the pitch and play.”
Ghana is determined to qualify for the CHAN tournament ahead of Nigeria for the second consecutive time, with both teams eager to make their mark on the continental stage.
