At the Accra Sports Stadium, a thrilling match between Accra Lions and Bechem United ended in a goalless draw.
Despite a strong start by Accra Lions and a close chance by Daniel Awuni, Bechem United goalkeeper Japheth Novienyo made a crucial save in the box, although some thought he had grabbed the player.
Later, Dominic Amponsah had an opportunity to give the home team the lead after a corner from Baba Apiiga, while Evans Botchway fired from distance after an impressive run.
Bechem United also had their chances, testing Accra Lions goalkeeper with strikes from Emmanuel Annor and Emmanuel Avornyoh. Clinton Duodo came close after receiving a fantastic pass from Isaiah Nyarko.
After a goalless first half, Accra Lions returned stronger and had another chance to take the lead through Awuni, but Novienyo made another important save. Halfway into the second half, a ferocious strike from Amponsah was blocked by a Bechem United defender, and Rich Sackey’s header was stopped on the line by the goalkeeper.
Both teams made changes, but neither could find the breakthrough, and the match ended in a draw.
