On Saturday, Asante Kotoko claimed their second away victory of the season with a 2-0 win over Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports complex.
The Porcupine Warriors demonstrated remarkable determination and perseverance to secure all three points in the game.
This season, Kotoko has now beaten Samartex twice in the Ghana Premier League. Enoch Morrison opened the scoring for Kotoko with a fantastic team move in the 18th minute, followed by Rocky Dwamena’s goal before half-time.
In the second half, Samartex missed several opportunities from set pieces as they sought to level the score. Aquach scored one goal for Samartex in the 69th minute as they continued their pursuit of an equalizer.
Nevertheless, Kotoko’s defense held strong, with goalkeeper Frederick Asare delivering an impressive performance.
Following this win, Asante Kotoko climbed to third place on the league table with 34 points, while Samartex suffered their second defeat of the ongoing campaign.
