Bofoakwa Tano FC secured their spot in the Ghana Premier League after a thrilling encounter against Eleven Wonders in the division one zone I playoff at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.

The match ended 1-1 in regulation time, leading to a penalty shootout which Bofoakwa Tano won 7-6.

Eleven Wonders fielded a strong lineup for the game, including players like Sulemana Rashid, Experience Simms Kwayie, Clement Boahen, Prince Baffoe, and Hamza Mohammad. On the other hand, Bofoakwa Tano relied on the likes of Emmanuel Kobi, Francis Mawuli, Leslie Aryeetey, and Enoch Abuu as they aimed for victory.

Bofoakwa Tano started the game strongly and earned a penalty in the 7th minute when Enoch Abuu was fouled by the Eleven Wonders goalkeeper. Leslie Aryeetey stepped up and calmly converted the penalty, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

However, Eleven Wonders regrouped and finished the first half on a positive note, finding their rhythm and threatening Bofoakwa Tano’s defense.

In the second half, Eleven Wonders quickly equalized in the 47th minute through a header from Zackaria Osman, assisted by Hamza Mohammad’s corner kick.

Both teams launched numerous attacks throughout the remainder of the match, with Bofoakwa Tano having the majority of chances. However, neither side could find a winner, leading to a stalemate at full time.

The game proceeded to extra time, but neither team managed to score, prolonging the tension and excitement for the fans. Ultimately, the match was decided by a penalty shootout, where Bofoakwa Tano emerged victorious, winning 7-6 on penalties.

With this victory, Bofoakwa Tano FC secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League after a sixteen-year absence, marking a significant achievement for the club.
