On Sunday afternoon at Agyeman Badu Stadium in Dormaa Ahenkro, league leaders Aduana Stars fought hard to earn a point against Real Tamale United.
The game was evenly matched in the early stages, with Aduana having a weak free kick in the 35th minute, which was easily saved by RTU goalkeeper Yaw Osei.
The home side continued to try to break down Real Tamale United, but they remained solid and organized. The first half ended goalless, and after halftime, both coaches changed tactics and brought on fresh legs, but the game still had no goals.
In the 75th minute, Kwame Frimpong scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-0, but the lead did not last long as RTU hit back with goals from Umar Abdul Manaf in the 85th and 88th minutes.
Solomon Aboagye’s late strike in added time saved Aduana Stars from defeat. Aduana Stars still lead the Ghana Premier League with 40 points, while RTU sit in 13th place with 29 points.
Aduana Stars will take on Berekum Chelsea in their next game, while RTU will face Accra Great Olympics.
