Former assistant coach of the Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu, has revealed that he could be heading back to South Africa ahead of the next football season.
The seasoned Ghanaian coach, who is currently without a club after parting ways with Black Leopards, shared updates on his next move in an interview with Graphic Sports. He disclosed that discussions are ongoing, with his agent actively engaging potential suitors in South Africa.
“My agent has been calling to see how I’m doing and all that, and once I’m home, I’ll wait for the next step to take,” Konadu said, indicating that the process is in motion, although nothing has been finalized yet.
He added that while he’s had conversations with several clubs, he preferred not to disclose names at this stage. “Definitely, I’ve spoken to several clubs. I only have to wait for the season to end, but for now, we don’t have to go into which clubs are talking to me,” he explained.
With his agent based in South Africa, Konadu noted that it increases the chances of him returning to the region. “Since my agent is based in South Africa, it’s clear the offers are coming from clubs there. So, I may move back next season,” he confirmed.
The former Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC head coach seems poised for a new chapter, and all signs point to a possible comeback in South African football.
