According to a report filed by Max FM in Accra, Maxwell Konadu has submitted his resignation as the head coach of Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities.
It is believed that the club owes Konadu several months of unpaid salary arrears, and recent disagreements with the management regarding player transfers have strained their relationship.
During his tenure, Konadu guided Legon Cities to a strong finish in the 2022/23 BetPawa Premier League season. The team secured a ninth-place finish on the league table and recorded six victories in their last nine league matches.
However, their journey came to an end with a quarter-final defeat to eventual winners Dreams FC in the FA Cup.
As of now, the club has not officially responded to Konadu’s departure. Fans will be eager to see a swift appointment of a new coach as the 2023/24 league season is rapidly approaching.
