Medeama SC beat Bechem United FC with a very late spot kick converted by former Accra Hearts of Oak SC defender Vincent Atinga at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.

The Hunters were left heartbroken and almost left the field in protest against a penalty they deemed hash in the closing stages of their Ghana Premier League week 18 clash on the road.

The opening 45 minutes of the match ended goalless at the Akoon Park as the second placed team looked to keep up the pace with leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.

With the game heading into the dying embers with virtually additional time period left to play, both teams fancied their chances of getting all three points.

Medeama SC were then given the chance to win all three points with a late penalty, a decision that angered the visitors who almost abandoned the game.

Vincent Atinga stepped up to cooly put the ball into the bottom right corner after calm was restored to win all three points for the Yellow and Mauves outfit

The game finished 1-0 to Medeama who move to 5th position with 29 points from 18 matches.
