Medeama SC has sent their defender and captain Kofi Asmah on a season-long loan to Togolese champions ASKO de Kara for the 2024-25 campaign.
The 21-year-old centre-back will strengthen the Togolese club’s defense for their CAF Champions League campaign, which is set to begin next month.
Asmah played a crucial role in Medeama’s CAF Champions League campaign last season, helping the team reach the group stage for the first time in history.
He featured in seven matches in the continental competition, scoring once against Guinean giants Horoya AC in the second preliminary round at the Cape Coast Stadium.
In addition to his continental exploits, Asmah made 22 appearances in the Ghana Premier League last season for Medeama, scoring one goal. He also demonstrated his versatility by featuring 15 times and scoring twice when Medeama won the Ghanaian championship for the first time in two seasons.
The loan deal will give Asmah an opportunity to gain more experience and exposure playing in a competitive league and competition.
