Evans Adotey, the coach of Medeama SC, exudes confidence in his team’s ability to make a significant impact in the CAF Champions League by defeating renowned African powerhouses such as Al Ahly.
Following their triumph in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League, the Yellow and Mauve will represent Ghana in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.
Medeama clinched the league title with a convincing 3-0 victory over Tamale City at Akoon Park on Sunday.
In an interview, Adotey expressed his belief that his team has the potential to overcome any formidable opponent in the competition.
“Why not? We can go far in the competition too. We can replicate what Al Ahly and other clubs have achieved in the tournament,” stated the former Karela United coach during a conversation with Asempa FM.
“We are not intimidated by any of these clubs. It all comes down to the game plan and the commitment of our players. So, we are not concerned about whether it’s Al Ahly or any other club. We simply believe that we can do it,” he added confidently.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Al Ahly secured their record 11th Champions League title by defeating Wydad.
