Medeama SC remain on the brink of winning their second Ghana Premier League title with just two matches left to end the season, but key figures within the club are urging caution despite their strong position at the top of the table.
The Mauve and Yellow currently sit first on the league log with 59 points from 32 matches, holding a two-point lead over defending champions GoldStars.
Forward Kingsley Braye has stressed the need for concentration as the team approaches the final stretch of the campaign.
“We are not yet champions, so we want to work hard and win the two remaining matches,” Braye said. “We don’t know what will happen, but I would love to score again against Heart of Lions.”
Medeama are set to face Heart of Lions at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Sunday, May 17, in what is expected to be a crucial fixture in the title race.
Head coach Ibrahim Tanko also echoed similar sentiments, calling for discipline and focus as the club pushes for glory.
“We still have some games to play, so we need to concentrate on the next one. We have to be very careful and go all the way to be sure we win the league. So definitely we are going to take the rest of the games seriously,” Tanko stated.
With two games remaining, Medeama remain in pole position, but the title race is still mathematically open as pressure builds in the closing stages of the season.
