Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has reflected on his side’s Ghana Premier League title success, insisting the achievement was the result of hard work rather than luck.
The Yellow and Mauves were crowned champions last weekend after an emphatic 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions, sealing their second league title in style.
Speaking ahead of their final league fixture against Hearts of Oak on Sunday, May 24, Tanko praised the collective effort of everyone at the club, from management to the playing body.
“Winning the Ghana Premier League gives a very good feeling. It doesn’t come by fluke. We worked hard for it,” he said.
“The whole team, the president, the board, the management, and the technical team, together with the playing body, I think we have done a good job. I congratulate all of us.”
Medeama now head into the final match of the season with the title already secured, as they prepare to wrap up a successful campaign.
The Tarkwa-based club will also represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Champions League following their domestic triumph.
