Medeama SC striker Jonathan Sowah celebrated his first-ever appearance for Ghana’s senior national team in an international friendly against Liberia.
Sowah made his debut for the Black Stars when he came off the bench against the Lone Stars of Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The game saw a goalless first half, but Ghana eventually secured a 3-1 victory over Liberia, with goals from Ernest Nuamah, Kudus Mohammed, and Jordan Ayew.
Sowah entered the match as a substitute in the 80th minute, replacing Iddrisu Baba.
Sowah’s journey to the national team began when he joined Medeama SC from lower-tier side Danbort FC during the second half of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
His impressive performances, which included scoring 12 goals in 18 matches, played a crucial role in helping the Yellow and Mauves secure their first-ever Premier League title.
In addition to his domestic success, Sowah has also contributed with two goals in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League campaign for Medeama SC.
