Ghana’s Gideon Mensah has confessed about the pains he was made to endure by World’s superstar, Lionel Messi this season in the French Ligue 1 playing for FC Girondins Bordeaux.

Gideon has revealed that he had waist pains after his encounter with the seven-time Ballon d’or winner at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

According to him, playing against Messi was not easy as he had to go through some pains after facing the arguably World Best Player ever.

“Playing against Messi was not easy because the guy is something else and I had to endure waist pains after the game against Paris St Germain”, he told Joy Sports.

He is also relishing a possible match-up against Messi’s number rival, Cristiano Ronaldo when Ghana face Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year.

“I’m relishing the possibility of coming up against Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup in November this year to see if he will also give me problems or maybe this time it will be me giving him something to think about”, he added.

Mensah faced Messi in the French Ligue 1 and is on course to play against Ronaldo in Qatar this year at the FIFA Mundial.
