Stefan Andreasson, the manager of IF Elfsborg, has expressed admiration for Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo following his contract extension with the Swedish club.
Baidoo committed his future to Elfsborg by signing a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027. Since joining from Norway in 2022, the 24-year-old has emerged as a pivotal figure for the Yellow and Blacks, playing a vital role in their title challenge last season.
“Since he arrived for the 2022 season, Michael has evolved into one of the best midfielders in the Allsvenskan. Today, we are delighted and proud that Michael has found such joy and success in Borås and at Elfsborg that he has chosen to extend his stay rather than exploring other options,” remarked Andreasson.
“Michael is highly valued within the club, and I believe this extension sends a clear message to everyone about our ambitions. We eagerly anticipate the start of the 2024 season with Michael once again at the heart of our team, both on and off the pitch,” he added.
The former Vision FC player has made a significant impact, contributing 14 goals and 9 assists in 54 competitive appearances for Elfsborg. With his contract secured, Baidoo’s continued presence is expected to bolster Elfsborg’s pursuit of success in the upcoming season.
