Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo is reportedly on the verge of leaving Swedish club Elfsborg before the summer transfer window closes, as interest from several European clubs continues to mount.
Baidoo, 25, has become a top transfer target thanks to his outstanding performances in the Swedish Allsvenskan. His impressive form has also brought him closer to earning a call-up to the Ghana national team, the Black Stars.
Elfsborg’s sporting director, Stefan Andreasson, hinted at Baidoo’s potential departure, acknowledging the significant interest in the player. “We have some discussions. There is a lot of interest and requests,” Andreasson said. “We have had all the focus on the Allsvenskan and advancing in the European games. Then we know we have to make certain decisions. I guess Baidoo is one of those players. You can guess yourself.”
Baidoo has been a standout performer for Elfsborg over the past two seasons. This season alone, he has scored 10 goals in 26 appearances and contributed to 17 goals across all competitions.
Bundesliga club LASK Linz and English Championship side Plymouth Argyle are among the clubs reportedly expressing strong interest in securing the Ghanaian midfielder’s services. As the transfer window draws to a close, Baidoo’s future remains a topic of keen interest.
