Bibiani Goldstars striker Abednego Tetteh has credited coach Michael Osei for playing a crucial role in helping him regain his form.
Tetteh, who joined the club in January after an unsuccessful stint with King Faisal, has been in outstanding form this season, scoring twelve goals, the highest among the Miners’ players.
Tetteh attributes his success to his self-confidence, hard work, and the tactical guidance of coach Michael Osei. He commended Osei for his humility and mutual respect, stating that when a coach shows humility and a player reciprocates, it can lead to great achievements.
In a post-match interview with Oyerepa FM after scoring to secure a point against Asante Kotoko, Tetteh expressed his admiration for coach Osei.
“The secret is self-confidence and hard work and the tactics of the coach. If you have a coach who humbles himself for you and you do same for him, I am very sure you will go high,” he said.
He revealed that Osei had been monitoring him since last season, and despite obstacles preventing the move at the time, the coach persisted and eventually brought him to the club. Tetteh referred to Osei as a visionary, as he recognized something special in him and helped him rediscover his potential.
“Michael Osei has an eagle eye, he saw something in me and had been following since last season but something blocked the move and even when I was at King Faisal where things weren’t really clicking for me, he called me and told me he still needs me so I will say he is a seer, he saw something in me and has discovered it.
Tetteh’s ultimate goal is to see Goldstars among the top four teams in the league. Additionally, he expressed his determination to compete for the goal king title, highlighting his hunger for success and individual achievements.
“I want to see my team (Gold Stars) in the top four, that is my ultimate aim but if the goal king comes, will surely grab it
