French Ligue 2 outfit AJ Auxerre captain Elisha Owusu in line to start for Ghana’s Black Stars team when they face Mexico in their first of two FIFA International friendly games this month.
He has been dazzling for the club in the French second tier league and would be hopeful of replicating his club form in the Ghana jersey in the coming teams.
Owusu produced a wonderful and a spectacular performance for the team in a Pre-World Cup friendly in in November, 2022 when Ghana beat Switzerland 2-0 prior to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.
Black Stars are scheduled to play Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Sunday, October 15, followed by a match against the United States of America on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.
These friendly matches are considered crucial for preparing the team for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
