Hafiz Wontah Konkoni, 23, has seen limited playing opportunities since joining Young Africans in July 2023. He has been making substitute appearances mostly which has been a major concern for his fans.
At Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, Medeama SC drew 1-1 against Young Africans in a pulsating match that each side could have won.
Hafiz Konkoni, a Ghanaian international, was brought on by the experienced Argentine tactician Miguel Angel Gamondi in the 85th minute to replace the Zambian forward Kennedy Musonda.
When Yanga’s coach Gamondi was quizzed in the post-match conference on why Konkoni was not getting the chances, the gaffer said, “It’s my personal decision to keep Hafiz Konkoni on the bench”.
Young Africans paid 100,000 USD for his signature in the Summer transfer window from Bechem United.
