Just days after enduring a traumatic robbery and assault in Brussels, Mohammed Fuseini has shown remarkable courage and professionalism by putting the incident behind him and returning straight to the pitch for Union Saint-Gilloise, earning a starting place against Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup.

The Ghanaian forward was recently attacked by armed robbers, who stole his valuables and left him with minor injuries. Despite the frightening ordeal, Fuseini quickly resumed training and has refused to let the incident derail his season.

His response speaks volumes about his mentality. Rather than allowing adversity to define him, the 24-year-old has remained focused on football, demonstrating resilience, determination and the character expected of top-level professionals.

Fuseini has also carried his impressive form into pre-season, scoring four goals in three matches to underline his sharpness ahead of the new campaign.

His career numbers further highlight his steady rise through European football. Since leaving Ghana, he has progressed through Sturm Graz in Austria, enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Randers in Denmark, and has since established himself at Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium. Across his senior club career, he has made 139 competitive appearances, scored 35 goals, provided several assists, and has already won the Belgian Pro League and the Belgian Cup with Union SG. He has also featured in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, gaining valuable experience at the highest level.

On the international stage, Fuseini has already shown he can deliver in Ghana colours. He has earned two senior caps for the Black Stars and scored one goal, proving he has the quality to make an impact whenever called upon.

With his pace, intelligent movement, relentless work rate and eye for goal, Fuseini offers attributes that can add another dimension to Ghana’s attack. More importantly, his ability to bounce back immediately from a traumatic personal experience reflects the mental toughness that every national team needs.

As the Black Stars continue to build for future competitions, Mohammed Fuseini has made a compelling case for another call-up. His performances, winning mentality, European experience and resilience suggest he is ready to play a bigger role for Ghana, and the time may be right for him to become a regular feature in the national team setup.
