Arsenal and Chelsea have been sent a major Mohammed Kudus transfer update by Ajax sporting director Sven Mislintat. Both London clubs are interested in signing the versatile Ghana international this summer, although Chelsea currently appear to have a slight advantage over their rivals.

The Blues have already sounded out Ajax over making a potential move for Kudus, football.london reports. While formal contact has also been made from those within Stamford Bridge and an agreement is said to be close on personal terms.

Manchester United and Brighton are also showing an interest in Kudus, however neither see him as a current priority.

For Erik ten Hag, Kudus is seen as an alternative to Rasmus Hojlund, while the Seagulls must sell players first before potentially signing the Ajax star.

A report from The Independent recently stated the Gunners are looking at signing a new midfielder and right-back before the transfer window closes.

Acquiring Kudus’ services would fill one of those aims and also offer depth on the right-hand side of attack to Bukayo Saka who played 84 minutes in the pre-season friendly against Barcelona.

With Arsenal currently just keeping tabs on Kudus’ situation, Chelsea hold the advantage although their pursuit of Moises Caicedo and potential hijack of Liverpool’s deal for Romeo Lavia show their priorities are elsewhere.

Ajax chief Mislintat has now provided more clarity on Kudus’ future from the perspective of Ajax. “There are clubs that have informally enquired about him,” he told Ajax Life, via Metro.

“I don’t expect an offer very soon, although you know that things can be different in the football world. Perhaps the interest is not as serious as everyone thinks.”

Speaking to Aglemeen Dagblad, he added: “There is no fixed deadline, but there are agreements we must have to get replacements if we have not already done so proactively.
