Ghana’s top talent, Mohammed Kudus has deservedly been named as the best player at the 47th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards on Saturday, January, 28,2023.
The Black Stars standout performer at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar was duly been rewarded for his enormous efforts at the world stage for the country.
He has also been a revelation this season for Dutch Eredivisie giant AFC Ajax Amsterdam with consistently consistent display week in week out in both the UEFA Champions League and the domestic competitions in the Netherlands.
Kudus made history when he became the first ever Ghana player to score two goals (brace) at the World Cup in a single game when he scored twice against South Korea in Group H at the Education City Stadium in Al Wakrah.
He was the only player from Ghana to win a Man-Of-The-Match award at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar last year.
Kudus scored four goals and provided two assists with two Man-Of-The-Match awards in the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League group stages including a masterclass performance against Liverpool FC.
He was the breakout star and the most talked about and highly rated Black Stars player at the 2022 FIFA World Cup attracting interest from various clubs across Europe’s top leagues.
In all competitions this season, the 22-year-old Ghanaian midfielder has scored found the back of the net 11 times and provided four assists in 24 appearances for Ajax so far in the 2022/23 season.
