Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a significant blow after head coach Thomas Frank confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will be sidelined until April due to a quad injury.
The Ghana international sustained the injury during Spurs’ draw with Sunderland on Sunday, going down off the ball in a worrying moment that forced his withdrawal. The result left Tottenham languishing in 14th place on the Premier League table, compounding concerns for the North London club.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Frank provided an update on Kudus’ condition and recovery timeline.
“That is one where we expect him back after the March international break,” Frank said.
The upcoming international window is scheduled to run from March 23 to March 31, meaning Kudus is unlikely to feature for either club or country before then.
The 25-year-old forward has been an important figure for Spurs this season, making 19 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals and registering five assists. His absence will be keenly felt, particularly given Tottenham’s struggles for consistency in the final third.
Frank also offered updates on other injury concerns within the squad, revealing further uncertainty in midfield.
“Lucas Bergvall is being assessed today. Same with Rodrigo Bentancur. Rodri has a hamstring injury, looks like a bigger one, unfortunately. We don’t know the time frame,” he added.
With Kudus ruled out for several weeks and multiple midfielders facing fitness issues, Tottenham now face a testing period as they attempt to steady their season and climb away from the bottom half of the Premier League table.
