AFC Ajax Amsterdam player, Mohammed Kudus was named Man-Of-The-Match in Ghana’s Group H 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday afternoon.

The Playmaker scored twice for the Black Stars in their slim win over the Asian country.

Ghana’s Black Stars bounced back to winning ways with a slim victory over the Taegeuk Warriors of South Korea on Monday afternoon.

Koreans started the game on front foot and dominated the opening minutes of the match with a high pressing football against the Black Star.

The Asians had the better of the Africans with some beautiful display pushing the Ghanaians into their own half for the first 15 minutes of the match.

Ghana came into the game gradually with some good passes upfront from the midfielders to create openings for the attackers to attack the space.

Jordan Ayew was brought down on the left side of attack and his in-swinger was not properly defended by the Koreans which allowed Mohammed Salisu to pounce on the loose ball to score the opener for the Black Stars after 24 minutes. Ten minutes later, Jordan Ayew found the head of Mohammed Kudus who headed home the second goal to make it 2-0 to the Black Stars before the break. After the recess, Koreans pressure was unbearable for the stars as they attacked Ghana with so many high balls into the penalty area.

Gue-Sung Cho finally headed home the Koreans first goal of the tournament in the 58th minutes mark after Tariq Lamptey’s sluggish play to half the deficit.

Three minutes later, Cho scored another header with Gideon Mensah caught ball watching to make it 2-2 just after the hour mark to restore parity. Kudus scored again for Ghana as they they) attacked again inside 68th minute mark to make it 3-2 to Ghana.

The pressure became unbearable for the Ghana team team as Korea posed bigger treat to the Black Stars with Lawrence Ati-Zigi making four incredible saves to deny the Asians. It ended 3-2 to Ghana as Koreans coach Paolo Bento went crazy for a corner kick which they were not allowed to take. Ghana needs a win over Uruguay in their last game to progress to the next stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.

He also provided the assist for Ghana’s first goal against Portugal in the first match.
