AS Monaco has confirmed that 24-year-old defender Mohammed Salisu has undergone pubalgia surgery, a procedure that is expected to keep the Ghanaian international sidelined for several weeks, as reported by L’Équipe.
Salisu made the move to the French club during the recent transfer window from Southampton, following the Saints’ relegation to the Championship in the previous season.
Unfortunately, his debut for AS Monaco has been postponed due to a pre-existing injury he sustained while playing for Southampton in the English Championship.
On Friday, September 15, AS Monaco officially announced that Mohammed Salisu would undergo surgery to address his persistent pubalgia injury, which had been causing him pain during the international break.
According to reports in the French media, Salisu’s recovery period following the surgery is expected to be an extended one, with several weeks predicted before his return to the field.
The former Valladolid center-back initially suffered the injury in March and has since struggled to recover fully. He is now hopeful that the recent surgery will lead to a significant improvement in his fitness.
