John Eduafo, the head coach of Bofoakwa Tano, expressed admiration for his team’s display following their MTN FA Cup triumph against Dreams FC on Sunday afternoon.
In a thrilling encounter, the Hunters pushed the defending champions to extra time, ultimately securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.
This victory earned them a coveted place in the final of the cup competitions.
Without a doubt, reaching that stage was a battle.
Dreams FC pushed Bofoakwa Tano into extra time when Abdul Jalilu converted a penalty late in the second half, nullifying Bofoakwa’s initial lead.
Nevertheless, Elijah Addai’s decisive goal swung the momentum back in Bofoakwa’s favour, securing a 2-1 victory and propelling the Bono side into the final.
In his post-match remarks, Coach Eduafo commended the collective effort and teamwork demonstrated by his players.
“It’s one of those things in football, sometimes you make tactical changes and you get a positive result. Sometimes, you make tactical changes and it doesn’t work well but today, thank God, I had results after those few tactical changes,” he told StarTimes Ghana.
“Few of [the players] have had some knocks, we are going to work on them. I am happy because the boys played with character and attitude, especially in the latter part of the game pressure was on the team but the boys stayed disciplined with character and attitude and we won.”
Bofoakwa Tano have five games more to save their league campaign.
