On Sunday, Bofoakwa Tano have a date with Division One side Skyy FC at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Bofoakwa Tano despite their struggles in the Premier League have showcased quality in the Cup competition after beating Sunyani Oxford FC 3-0 in the Round of 64 to take off on a positive note.

The 1983 finalists pip Berekum City 1-0 in a very difficult game in the Round of 32 before another 1-0 win over Wa Power FC secured them a quarter-final slot. Bofoakwa Tano are yet to concede a goal in this season’s MTN FA Cup Competition following three clean sheets in the competition.

Skyy FC are aiming for their second semi-final on the spin after losing to eventual winners Dreams FC in the semis last season. The Daboase club is 3rd in Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League having delivered a very impressive form in the Cup competition thus far.

Their journey began with a 2-0 win over FC Samartex 1996 in the Round of 64 and followed up with another 2-0 win over two-time winners Medeama SC in the Round of 32. Skyy FC continued their stunning form at Elmina where they beat Elmina Sharks on penalty shoot outs to secure a ticket to the quarter-final.

Winner of this encounter will lock horns with either champions Dreams FC or Soccer Intellectuals in the semi-final. Going into the game, Bofoakwa Tano boasts one victory over Skyy FC in all competitions.

Saaka Dauda who has established himself as a linchpin of the club with 8 Premier League goals this season is available for the clash on Sunday with the likes of Sammy Osae Akoto, Alhassan Ali, Emmanuel Ankrah, Emmanuel Agyenim Boateng, Najib Ibrahim, Solomon Obilitey, Kelvin Oppong, Ado Zack, Abdul Bashiru and Steven Owusu also hoping for a place in the starting line to impress.
