“Obiara nye obiaa” is the motto indeed. Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Great Olympics, Medeama SC, Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea are nowhere to be found in the 2023-24 MTN FA Cup.

Division Two side Akwaboso Young Madrid lost to Bechem United on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Emmanuel Owusu put the Premier League side level with 7 minutes from full-time after going down early in the second half. In the penalties, Akwaboso Young Madeis scored 3 from the 4 they took while Bechem United scored all of their  5 penalties to eliminate the minnows.

Bofoakwa Tano narrowly defeated Wa Power FC through Solomon Oblitey Commey’s 47th-minute strike.

At the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu, Ruben Quaye put Nania FC ahead even with a man down in the 75th minute against Legon Cities. The Royals equalised in the 82nd minute through Alidu Mohammed’s strike. Joseph Amoah saved Legon Cities from the embarrassment of losing to a 10-man Division One Side by snatching the winner on the stroke of full-time.

Legon Citis has secured a place in the quarter-finals draw alongside Bofoakwa Tano and Bechem United.

On Monday, Karela United shocked Asante Kotoko 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale with Solomon Aboagye and Giyasu Ibrahim scoring in the second half to eliminate the Porcupine Warriors.

On Vals Day, the Bono Derby ended in goalless with Nsoatrwman beating Berelum Cjelsea 5-3 on penalties.
