The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and leading telecommunications company, Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana), have reached an agreement to extend their enduring sponsorship of the FA Cup for an additional three seasons.
This longstanding partnership, which commenced in the 2010-11 season, has seen renewals in 2013, 2017, and 2020. The MTN FA Cup, a dynamic competition, features the participation of 18 Premier League clubs, 48 Division One League clubs, and 44 Division Two League clubs representing the 10 Regional Football Associations, totaling 110 clubs.
The Preliminary stage involves Division One League and Regional Division Two League clubs, with the winners advancing to join the 18 Premier League clubs in the main competition at the Round of 64 stage.
The champion of the MTN FA Cup not only secures a substantial trophy but also receives cash rewards and products from MTN. Additionally, the winner gains the opportunity to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
