Ghanaian midfielder Musah Mohammed has expressed his desire to one day play for Spanish La Liga giants Atlético Madrid, describing the club as a perfect fit for his playing style.
The 23-year-old, currently with Bodrum FK in Turkey, shared his ambition in an interview with Joy Sports, revealing his admiration for Diego Simeone’s tactical approach and the intensity of the Rojiblancos.
“I’m looking forward to seeing myself in one of the big leagues and also one of the big clubs,” Mohammed said. “Let me say England and Spain.
In Spain, the club I would say is Atlético Madrid, and if you go to England, I would say Aston Villa. I watch them [Atlético] a lot, and my style of play is kind of matched to their style.”
Mohammed was a key figure for Bodrum FK during their maiden campaign in the Turkish Süper Lig, making 25 league appearances and providing four assists. His consistent performances in midfield have seen him emerge as one of the club’s standout players.
Born in Nkawkaw, Ghana, Mohammed started his football journey with Bectero, a lower-tier Ghanaian side, before moving to Turkey. He had trials with top Turkish clubs including Fenerbahce and Besiktas, before launching his professional career with Ankaraspor. He later joined Eyüpspor, and then made the switch to Bodrum.
With his career on an upward trajectory, Musah Mohammed is now preparing himself for a potential step up to a top European league — with Atlético Madrid and Aston Villa at the top of his wish list.
