Maxwell Baakoh, the talented winger of USM Khenchela, has expressed his ultimate football goal – to represent the Ghana national team, the Black Stars.
Baakoh gained recognition as one of the top players during his time at Asante Kotoko in the Ghanaian top flight.
After his successful stint with Egyptian club Ceramica Cleopatra, the winger continued to shine, leading him to his current team in the Algerian topflight, USM Khenchela.
During an interview, Baakoh revealed that the Algerian CHAN team made an attempt to persuade him to switch nationalities, but he declined the offer. Despite his impressive performances, he is yet to receive a call-up to the Ghanaian senior national team.
However, Baakoh remains resolute in his ambition, stating, “I am a Ghanaian and my ambition is to play for Black Stars and I know, I will surely play for the Ghana national team,” the former Karela United attacker told Kumasi-based Pure FM.
During the previous season, Baakoh made 25 appearances for USM Khenchela, scoring five goals, further showcasing his talent and potential.
