Kotoko coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has commended his players for their determination in the thrilling clash against Nations FC in the ongoing Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The highly anticipated regional derby, held at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, ended in a 2-2 draw, sparking a new rivalry in Ghana football.
Unfortunately, the game made headlines for the wrong reasons, as alleged Kotoko fans expressed their displeasure by damaging seats and throwing them onto the pitch after a late penalty was awarded to Nations, resulting in the equalizing goal.
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum praised his team’s performance and expressed his satisfaction in an interview with Kotoko’s official media channel. He stated, “I believe it was a beautiful game; both teams played exceptionally well. They possessed the ball, played with high intensity, and created numerous chances. As for my team, the players performed admirably.”
Dr. Ogum highlighted the qualities exhibited by his players, emphasizing their resilience and character throughout the match. He said, “They demonstrated resilience and character…they were confident. I am proud and happy with their efforts. If we can maintain that spirit, it will greatly benefit the team.”
