The National Sports Authority is an entity that is often in the news for the wrong reasons.
The institution receives Barage of Criticisms for the role they play in managing the various sporting disciplines, but the Director-General of the NSA, Peter Twumasi is unperturbed about the bad press his outfit often receives. According to him, the NSA is a very important entity and every information about them is news to the media
“The NSA is a very important stakeholder and every matter that is raised about using a facility, a match to come off and all that, you are likely to have some information to discuss about. If it is about some other minor Associations, which they hardly have any such information that attracts the viewership that we have, it goes without anyone noticing. But we are managing 47 federations and under each of them you have other groupings but football is the bigger one.” He told Starr Sport.
According to him, the media often misinterpret their relationship with the Ghana Football Association because that will sell their content.
“When you say Kurt Okraku was at the NSA office to great his brother, it’s news. People will start misinterpreting the meeting and the media will pick it and it will trend but we have a fantastic relationship with the GFA”
The National Sports Authority are the managers of all the various sporting disciplines in Ghana.
