Pouaty Dendoum, one of the latest additions to the Asante Kotoko setup, has been named a fourth deputy captain of the club.
The 26-year-old will hold the role for the 2022/23 season, just weeks after joining the Porcupine Warriors on a permanent deal.
He will assist main captain Richard Boadu, Yussif Mubarik, Ibrahim Danlad and Christopher Nettey as the club aims to retain the betPawa Premier League title and make an impact in the CAF Champions League.
The captains for last season have been completely changed with Ismail Ganiu having an uncertain future and the duo of Razak Abalora and Mudasiru Salifu joining Sheriff Tiraspol.
Pouaty is expected to compete with Ibrahim Danlad, who secured a place as the club’s first goalkeeping option from last season.
The Cameroonian will hope to perform well with the additional responsibility.
Kotoko are currently in Sudan for a pre-season tour. They will face Al-Hilal on Tuesday.
