Newly promoted betPawa Premier League side Samartex have announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Ganiu Abass on a free transfer ahead of the new campaign.

Abass was a key player for Eleven Wonders when he joined the club two seasons prior, netting an impressive tally of seven goals in 14 matches during the 2020/21 season.

He found the net on four occasions for the Sure Wonders but they were relegated to the Division One League.

Samartex however sealed a place in the top-flight after dominating their zone in the second tier. They will hope that Abass’ addition helps them stay in the league for the following season.

The club is expected to go head-to-head with RTU in their opening fixture. The new season is expected to start on the weekend of 9-12 September, 2022.
